The High School games are now completed at McDonough Park. The sounds of pinging alumnium bats are giving way to the thwunk of wood bats as the Geneva Red Wings take the field! Most of the team has reported at this point and "spring training" has begun.
There are no events scheduled this week, however there is a free admission exhibition game scheduled against Delaware next Tuesday June 7th at 7:00PM. The boys will then travel with Delaware to Cooperstown for an extra special exhibition to be played on the Baseball Hall of Fame's Doubleday Field. Many of our players come from other parts of the country and this is a special "once in a lifetime" event to have the opportunity to play on this famed field. If you have the ability to make the road trip, come on out and see us in Cooperstown next Wednesday, the game starts at 5:00PM.
Didn't make any of the High School games last week? Well then you probably haven't seen all the improvements at McDonough Park. New paint, a new backstop, a new party pavilion, and to fill up that pavilion GREAT food and drink. Dana, from Dana's Time Out (Rtes 5 & 20, Geneva) will be running our concessions this season. She's brought her staff and awesome ball park food from the main drag of Geneva, out to the ball park! C'mon out for a beer and a dog, and to watch the boys win it all this season!
