...The Wings traveled to Elmira Saturday for a doubleheader against the Pioneers. The Wings took both games from the home team 3-0 and 7-4. Kenny Gray (Florida Atlantic) left the game at the end of the five after allowing just 4 hits and striking out 7. The bullpen struggled a bit in the seventh allowing 4 runs in the final frame and loading the bases until Kevin Riccoti (Coker College) nailed down the save and sent the boys home with a sweep of the doubleheader.

...The Wings traveled to Allegany County on Sunday for another doubleheader, where they dropped two; 2-1 in 10 innings and 6-2. In the first game Geneva forced extra innings with a single run, in the seventh inning, on a Harry Darling (Boston College) RBI base hit. Jeremy Kehrt (Southern Indiana) did not figure in the decision despite pitching nine innings and allowing only one run on three hits, while striking out seven. In the nightcap the Nitros came back from a 2-0 deficit with six unanswered runs to win the night cap. A five-run fourth inning by Allegany County was the difference. Matt Koren (Rochester) combined with three other Nitros pitchers to throw a two-hitter.
