Wings as hot as the weather, drop Watertown...July 17th , 2006

... Don't look now, but the Geneva Red Wings have gotten as hot as the July weather. With two weeks left in the season that is a really good thing. The Wings traveled to Watertown yesterday earning a come-from-behind win 7-4. Pete VanDeBout (Seton Hall) came out of the bull pen with the score 4-3 in Watertown's favor, he proceeded to shut the Wizards down for 5 1/3 innings, allowing just 5 hits and no runner past 1st base. In the process he also earned the "W". The hitters took care of the rest. Harry Darling (Boston College) had two doubles on the night and sored two runs, Tim Alberts (Niagara) went 3-5 with 2 RBIs, and Nick Stewart (Francis Marion) added to the hitting clinic going 2-3 with his sixth home run of the season. With the win the Wings move to within one game of the final playoff spot, standing in their way, Rochester. The Wings play Rochester twice in the next three days... this is gettin' good!

...The Wings travel to Rochester today for a 5:00 start time, the game can be heard live on TeamLine.
