Wings battle, but fall short ...July 6th , 2006

...The Wings battled back last night, but the rally came up just short as they dropped a heartbreaker to Saratoga 7-6. Starting pitcher, Jeremy Kehrt (Southern Indiana) had a rough go of it early, as Saratoga scored 6 of their seven runs in his 2 innings of work. After the initial damage was done a trio of Wings pitchers kept the team in the game. Pete VanDenBout (Seton Hall), Aaron Greenblatt (Northeastern), and Kevin Riccoti (Coker College) quieted the Saratoga bats allowing one run in their 7 innings of releif work. The Wings hitters then chipped away at the lead, getting runs in 4 of the last 7 innings. Chris Bottsford (St John Fisher) hit his first home run of the season, a solo-shot to left feild brining the Wings to within 2. The Wings plated one more run in the eighth, but could not get anything going in the ninth to tie the game.

...The All-Star Game is tonight in Watertown, first pitch is at 6:00, and can be heard on the Watertown TeamLine webcast.

...Next game is home on Friday vs the Watertown Wizards
