Wings lose tough one to Rochester ...July 19th , 2006

...The Wings dropped a heartbreaker to Rochester last evening 6-3. The bad news, Rochester now holds a two game lead on the Wings for the last playoff spot, the good news, the Wings have four more games left to play than the Royals, so alot can change. In the game last evening the Wings were only able to muster 4 hits, three of them extra base hits by David Bounds (Francis Marion), Tim Alberts (Niagara), and Nick Stewart (Francis Marion). Despite only producing 4 hits they were able to squeeze out 3 runs. Unfortunately, the Royals put on a show of their own with 15 hits and six runs.

...The Wings travel to Watertown tonight for a 7:00 start, they return home in almost a must win situation against the Rochester Royals tomorrow night, first pitch 7:30

... The NYCBL named their players of the week on Tuesday. Two Wings were lised in the honorable mentions, Nick Stewart (Francis Marion) continued his hot hitting last week and was recognized for it as he batted .450 last week (9-20) with 1 HR 2 Triples, 6 RBIs, and scored 6 times. Jeremy Kehrt (Southern Indiana) was recognized for his 7 inning complet game shutout vs. Amsterdam where he gave up 2 hits and struck out 8 while walking none. Congratulations guys!
