Geneva's Nick Stewart named 2006 NYCBL Player of the Year!
Nick Stewart (Francis Marion) was honored with the title of 2006 NYCBL Player of the Year as voted on by the NYCBL coaches. Nick roamed Right Field as a key component of the 2006 Geneva Red Wings. He led the team in nearly every offensive category this season, while tallying 6 assists from his Right Field position. Nick's numbers were some of the best on the all-time Red Wings list. He broke the single season home run record hitting his 7th in his final game, beating former Wing Craig King's record of 5. He swiped 14 of the 17 bases he attempted to steal, his OBPS (on base plus slugging) was an obscene .905 as he batted a vey soild .310. To go along with his 7 HR's he also drove in 28 RBI's. Nick was a gentleman both on and off the field and played the game with poise, power, humility and class. On behalf of the the entire Geneva Red Wings organization we would like to congratulate Nick on being recognized for such a tremndous honor!
