Rain again dampens the mood...July 28th, 2006

...A late afternoon downpour did not cause last evening's game to be cancelled, but it sure put a damper on everyones mood. The teams played in a nearly silent stadium before less than 100 fans. Both teams seemed disinterested in playing, but the decision to play was made and the game started about a half hour late. Nick Stewart (Francis Marion) continued his dominant hitting, with a towering blast to left center field in the first. The two run homerun gives him eight on the season, and he has sewn up the NYCBL homerun title. The Wings put a few more runs on the board but ended up falling 8-4 to Watertown. The Wings complete the season tonight at home against Rochester. Come on out tonight and say goodbye to a wonderful bunch of guys!

... Update: The final attendence for Senator Nozzolio Night was 2,087! It was great to have you all there! By far it was the largest crowd of the season, thank you!
