Unearned runs again plague Wings... Post Date June 20th, 2007

...The Wings traveled to Niagara Falls last evening for a contest aginst the Power. The game started 50 minutes late following a rain delay. Perhaps the Wings should have wished for more rain as they found themselves down 2-0 after the first. The real damage, however, was a few innings away. In the third the Power scored 4 runs on a balk, a hit batsman, an error, a wild pitch and a walk... along with one hit. Only 3 of the Power's 6 runs were earned on the night. The Wings didn't fare much better at the plate, stranding 8 runners and managing only 6 hits, finally breaking through in the ninth when Julio Gomez (Coker College) lead off the inning with a double, and Nick Spears (University of Texas Pan Am) picked him up on a single up the middle for the RBI. The Wings will hope to bounce back this evening against the Riverbats.

...The Wings travel to Brockport tonight for a 5:00 start. The Wings then return home tomorrow for a "Little League Thursday" contest against the Webster Yankees. Thursday is also $1.00 beer night, and Saturday brings Miss Teen Puerto Rico, Angela Jean Ortega to the ballpark to sign autographs. School's out, so come on out and enjoy an evening with your Wings!
