Wings win first game of non-traditional DH... Post Date June 9th, 2007

... The Wings (2-0) won game one of their non-traditional double header, 1-0. In Bolivar this afternoon, the Wings blanked the A's (0-2) with the help of spectacular starting pitching by Jason Bowman (Westchester University). Bowman went 6 full inings striking out 8 and allowing only three hits. The lone run of the contest scored on Andrew Damewood's (University of Texas @ Tyler) 2 out hit in the top of the fourth inning. The lead and the win were preserved when Brock Miller (Gardner-Webb University) threw out a runner attempting to score at home in the bottom of the eighth. Paul Bertuccini (LSU) earned the save. Both Damewood and Miller went 2-4 on the afternoon, and Julio Gomez (Coker College) was awarded a ground-rule-double in the sixth.

...The Wings now travel about 25 miles up the road to take on the Allegany County Nitros at 7PM, the game report for this contest will be posted in the morning edition of the web page updates �
