Wings drop one in Bolivar... Post date July 13th, 2007
...After beating divison leading Allegany on Tuesday the Wings were hoping to make some moves in the playoff picture. Well, that occurred, but not in a good way. The Wings dropped one in Bolivar 4-1 last night. The Wings would struggle at the plate scratching out only 6 hits after the 16 hit barrage on Tuesday. The lone run scored in the fourth after Andrew Damewood (University of Texas @ Tyler) doubled with one out, then advanced on a fielder's choice and scored on a wild pitch. The other bright spot was Shawn Summers (Francis Marion) 2-4 performance at the plate. Jordan Purrington (Stony Brook) pitched well enough to win scttering 5 hits and 3 runs over 5 innings, however the bats would not cooperate.
...The Wings return home tonight for a matchup with the Webster Yankees, and Saturday against the Niagara Falls Power. Both games start at 7:30. Come on out and help the boys with their push to the playoffs.
