Wings finish June two games over .500... Post date July 1st, 2007

...The Wings finished June for the first time in several years over .500. However, June did end with a loss to the Pioneers. Elmira jumped up 4-0 before the Wings got on the board. In the fourth the Wings got one back when Julio Gomez (Coker College)lead off with a double then was moved over to third when Nick Spisek (Westchester) grounded out to the secondbaseman. Gomez then scored on a wild pitch, making the score 4-1. The Pioneers got that one back in the top half of the fifth. That score would remain until the seventh when Shawn Summers (Francis Marion) would get a one out double and Chris Vargo (University of Richmond) would pick him up on a RBI single. That would be it for both teams, and the Wings would lose the last game of June 5-2. The Wings are currently tied for second place in the Western Divison, 6 games back of the Alegany County Nitros, along with Elmira, and Niagara Falls.

...The Wings travel to Elmira today to face the Pioneers at Dunn Field, then return home on Monday to again face the Pioneers for the third time in three days. First pitch Monday is 7:30.
