The 2008 Geneva Red Wings Roster Posted!... April 1st, 2008
The Geneva Red Wings have posted their 2008 roster. The roster can be found here along with links to the players respective Colleges and Universities. The Wings staff is happy to announce we have signed players from schools that we have grown with over the past seasons such as Westchester, SE Missouri, and Gardner Webb. We are equally happy to announce new relatationships with nationally renowned programs such as Notre Dame, George Mason, Holy Cross and University of South Florida.
In addition, the Wings have signed Billy Horn to the Coaching Staff. Billy comes to Geneva as the Pitching Coach by way of DelRay Beach, FL. Billy was born and raised in Bronx, NY and graduated from Westlake HS in Thornwood, NY. His College carrer was as a relief pitcher for Lynn University from 1997-2001. His professional carrer was as a starting pitcher for the San Marino Titans in 2003-2004. Billy was selected for the Italian national teamin 2004 but missd the Olympics in Athens, Greece due to injury. Rotator Cuff surgery ended his season and career as a player in 2005 when he played for the Long Beach Armada. Billy coaches High School pitchers in South Florida, and works for Bucky Dent's School of Baseball in Del Ray Beach, FL. His pitching experience will be invaluable to our staff this season, we look forward to his arrival.
On a similar note the Wings announce the resignation of our Associate Head Coach Kevin Graber from Amherst College. The Wings wish both him and his family well.
Geneva looks forward to the arrival of OUR boys of summer in late May. Until then visit the players team websites and see what will be in store for come June! Good luck guys, see you in May!
