Second straight road win to start season... Posted June 8th, 2008

The Wings traveled again for the second straight day to start the season and rode home again with the win. Dan Rouah (Lynn University) took the mound for the start on a hot and humid afternoon and pitched 8 strong innings scattering 6 hits, struck out 7 and allowed only 2 earned runs. Aaron Brett (Central Missouri) came in in the ninth and closed the door on the Yankees earning his first save of the season. The Wings bats were just as effective pounding out 11 hits on the aternoon. The Wings only scoring occurred with 2 in the second and 3 in the third inning. Jimmy Vahalik (Toledo) lead the team with a 3-4 afternoon. Kevin McGrath (Westchester) added to his RBI totals with an RBI single in both the second and third innning. Eddy Mendiola (Notre Dame) added two hits and picked up an RBI. Full Box Score

The Wings play on the road once more before coming home for opening day. After a day off tomorrow, the Wings will travel down to the end of the Thruway to take on the Niagara Falls Power on Tuesday at 7:00. The game can be heard live on TeamLine. Remember the home opener is scheduled for Wednesday the 11th at 7:30, some things are worth waiting for!
