Wings flat at Hornell, ready to come home.... Posted June 16th, 2008

The Wings had a very flat night last evening against the Hornell Ddogers as they lost 8-2 droping their record under .500 for the first time all season. Highlights were few as the Wings allowed 11 hits, 6 errors and the pitchers combiined to walk 9 batters. All in all the result could have been much worse, but some timely pitching took the Dodgers out of some big innings. The Wings were only able to put together 4 hits on the night, all singles. Two of those four hits came of the bat of John Sills (Holy Cross) on his 2-4 performance. The boys have an off day today before a two game set at home starting Tuesday.

A bright spot note from Saturday's game against Bolivar was missed. Nick Spears (Texas Pan Am) hit the Wings first home run of the season in the 6th inning making the score 4-2. It's always nice to get credit for the long ball, sorry Nick!
