Wings win another on the road 4-2 in 11 innings...Posted June 13th, 2008
Following a 42 minute rain delay in Elmira tonight the Wings rallied to tie a 2-1 score in the seventh 2-2. Mike Assman (Cortland) pitched five strong innings for the Wings but recieved a no decision for his effort. Aaron Brett (Central Missouri) benefited from the extra innnings finishing the game with 1 2/3 strong innings, and earned the win. The 2-2 score was broken in the top of the eleventh when, with bases loaded and two outs, Nick Spears (Texas Pan Am) hit a single to right field, scoring two. The Pioneers went down meekly in the bottom part of the frame, ending the game and sending the boys back to the bus with yet another road win.
It's a good thing the boys like to win on the road, they will have to do that a bit more before settling in at home. The Wings travel to Bolivar tomorrow, Saturday, for a 7:00 start against the A's, and Sunday they hit the road once again to meet up with the Dodgers of Hornell. All games both home and away can be heard live and free on TeamLine.
