Is there an electrician in the house?.... Posted June 29th, 2008
For the second time in as many nights the lights again failed at McDonough Park. On this night, the Wings wouldn't be able to finishwhat was a great game. The game was cruising along nicely as Kyle Eastham (South Florida) was in a rhythm keeping the Power off the board for four innings allowing 2 hits through 4. Midway through the bottom half of the fourth the lights went out, play continued through that half of the inning since there was still enough daylight. In the top of the fifth the game was halted due to waning daylight. The umpires allowed the Wings staff one hour before the game would be suspended. With 10 minutes to spare the lights would come back on once a fuse was secured from the City of Geneva. The Wings would add a couple hits but no runs in the next few innings. Kris Mengle (George Mason) would relieve Eastham and pitch 2 1/3 innings, and strike out five before the lights would go out again, and suspend the game. The game will be completed at a later date to be determined.
