Wings travel to Bolivar, win suspended game... Posted July 23rd, 2008

On short notice the Wings travelled back down to Bolivar yesterday morning to finish the suspended game from Sunday afternon. The Wings were up 2-0 after four when the rain cam on Sunday, and the Wings would add another and hold on for a 3-2 win. Mike Assmann (Cortland), Brett Stackhouse (Gadner-Webb), and Aaron Brett (Central Missouri) combined for the two hitter. Stackhouse was credited with the win. Jimmy Vahalik (Toledo) had a 2-4 day including a run scored. The win coupled with an Allegany County loss leap-frogs the Wings into third and gives the Wings a half game lead over the Nitros. The Nitros will be in town tonight for two games, first a suspended completion at 5:30, then a full nine at 7:30. The top four teams in each division make the post season, and if the Wings stay the course they should be playing in August!
