Rain again, but enough time to play.... June 29th, 2006
...The rains came again, but the Wings had enough time to pick up a 2-1 win over their interdivision rival and division leading Genesee Valley Rive Bats. Kenny Gray (Florida Atlantic) spun a gem of a game pitching 8 full innings of 4 hit ball, while fanning 4 in the process. Colin Sloand (Lehigh) came in in the ninth to sew up the game and earn a save. The Wings sruck for their two runs in the top of the ninth when Robb Meng (Monroe CC) provided a SAC fly, and the next batter, Matt Nandin (LeMoyne), followed Meng's lead and scored the second run on an RBI single. The Wings improve their record to 6-8 and move to within 2 games of first in the East.
...The forecast looks a bit better today, and the Wings will return home to host the Glens Falls Golden Eagles. First pitch is at 7:30 and the game can be heard live on TeamLine wih the voice of the Red Wings, Byan Roth.
