The Wings hoped for a few more in the ninth, but couldn't scratch out any other runs. Doug Elliot (UConn) had a nice night at the plate going 3-4 with three singles and a run scored pushing his early season average up to .545. Eddy Mendiola (Notre Dame) also continued his hot hitting goign 2-3 and with that the Wings have a pair of hitters batting a solid early season .545. A quartet of pitchers went to the mound on the night, however, Kris Mengle (George Mason) ended up taking the loss on the night with 4 innings pitched and 5 earned runs.
