Wings Pitchers combine for one hitter, but take the loss ...July 22nd, 2006

...Kenny Gray (Florida Atlantic) and Marco Rivera (Monroe Community College) combined for a one hitter last evening in Genesee Valley, however that wasn't enough for the win as the RiverBats took the contest 3-2. Rivera took over in the 3rd inning after Gray left with back pain, he allowed no hits in 6 innings of work but did allow 6 walks, 3 of which were in the 5th inning, which helped the 'Bats score two of their three runs. The wings put a rally together in the sixth getting two of the three runs back on a SAC fly by Nick Stewart (Francis Marion) and an RBI double by Travis Ozga (Florida Atlantic), but never got any closer as Rivera settled in and held the 'Bats scoreless the rest of the way.
